PLAKARTIVE 2015
![alt="Plakatwände](assets/img/plakatwaende.jpg)
PLAKARTIVE follows a Biennale concept and is an art exhibition in the public space, which uses advertising surfaces to display novelty in art. Art on advertising surfaces penetrates the habitual perception of the streetscape. The artwork meets the spectator without the special limitation of a gallery or museum, all the while not announcing anything, but visualising an own message giving the surface a new dimension. The exhibition brings together internationally acclaimed and experienced, as well as young and still unknown artists, whose works are predestined for the use in the public sphere.
The exhibition space lies in the city centre along the Mindenerstraße, roughly 200m from central station.
It ranges from the pedestrian subway Feilenstraße to the subway Arndtstraße. Guests have the opportunity
to visit the exhibition centre “Nummer zu Platz”, an event area for presentations, lectures, readings and music gigs.
The exhibition is composed of 26 stationary and 34
mobile surfaces, including 18/1 planes (=356x252cm)
in horizontal format, 9/1 planes (= 178 x 252 cm) in
portrait format, 8/1 planes (= 119 x 336 cm) in portrait format on bridge pillars and smaller
formats (A1/A0) in both subways.
